Top 5 Theo Huxtable Scenes; a Tribute to Malcolm-Jamal Warner

Actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner passed away at the age of 54 on July 20, 2025. He died in an accidental drowning while on vacation with his family in Costa Rica. My cousin texted me about his passing just as I was about to send her a text. “Can you believe it? Theo died.” We were both devastated and I know we’re not the only ones who felt like the Huxtable children were like siblings. At a recent work meeting for the icebreaker, I asked the question, “If you could bring back any retired TV show, what would it be?” It was an open ended question–not a poll. But three out of eight people answered, The Cosby Show. While Warner had many roles after The Cosby Show, here, I focus on some of my favorite Theo scenes. TV One, I need you to do a Theo-centric Cosby Show marathon, please!

“Theo’s Holiday.”

Rudy as Mrs. Griswold always cracks me up!
Theo and Rudy’s performances are the ones that always get me in this scene.

Theo’s Earring

Theo Lip Syncs James Brown for His Grandparents’ Anniversary

I love both anniversary performances.

My prayers go out to Malcolm’s family, friends, and the cast of The Cosby Show.
