Review of Arbonne’s “Jam” Lipstick

10308373_610214585729900_3434338694449397436_nWe’re overdue for a makeup review.  When I did a WEGO Roundtable Walk last week on YouTube about patient advocacy and how to discuss taboo health subjects, people asked me what lipstick I was wearing.  I was wearing Arbonne’s “Jam” lipstick.  As I’ve previously blogged about, I am a consultant for Arbonne–an all natural organic skincare and makeup company.  Arbonne products do not contain toxins, which are used by 90% of U.S.’ cosmetics companies.  That being said, I still review many makeup brands.

“Jam” is Great for Women Who:

  1. Want a bold color that’s slightly natural:  It’s hard to find a striking color that’s not loud.  I previously reviewed Arbonne’s Strawberry, which is a bold red lip.  If this is too loud for you, Jam may be more your speed.  I know a bold red lip isn’t for everyone
  2. Need to add definition to their faces:  7887.lgWomen who are sick, in treatment, and on drugs like Prednisone need lipsticks that add definition to the face.  Steroids like Prednisone bury our cheekbones under layers of fat.  Usually, shades that worked before illness no longer work.  We need something that is two to three shades darker than what we used to wear.  Sheer lip glosses and super light lipsticks tend to make sick women look sicker.  Prednisone is a drug used by millions of women who have cancer, autoimmune diseases, respiratory conditions, and other illnesses.
  3. Want teeth to appear whiter:  I may not have the straightest teeth but my teeth always appear white.  10350436_610215682396457_5186840060201925634_nA berry-based lipstick, like Jam, makes teeth look whiter by creating a contrast between the color and your teeth.  If you want a brighter smile, Jam is a safe bet.
  4. Have coordination issues:  Sometimes I have coordination issues when I apply my makeup; it all depends on what MG’s agenda is for the day.  Chronically ill women often find that applying makeup has become harder.  Arbonne’s long, straight tube makes it different from most (wider) lipstick tubes.  Subsequently, it’s easier to avoid coloring outside of the lines.
  5. Need a change in their beauty routine:  Most of my lipsticks have traditionally been variations of pink or coral.   Once in a while, a change in lipstick can add a kick in your beauty routine.

My Ranking:  ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ (5/5 stars)
