3 Laugh Out Loud Memoirs To Pick Up Now

We’re overdue for another Comedy Corner. I wanted to share three things that made me laugh. So hard. Laughter is one way I cope with chronic pain, fatigue, and depression.

Ali Wong “Dear Girls”

The first is Ali Wong’s memoir, Dear Girls. She wrote the book with the intention that her daughters would read it when they’re older. I laughed constantly. Here is a link to Wong’s book: https://amzn.to/3VrFs3M

Also here is a great interview Ali gave to Trevor Noah. Also, sidenote: Ali’s pink sweater with the black and green leopard spots is to die for!

Molly Shannon’s “Hello Molly!”

Another great memoir is Hello Molly! by SNL alum Molly Shannon. After reading the book, I went back and rewatched some of Molly’s greatest hits. Just wow. What a natural talent! Interestingly, her agent told her that Lorne Michaels would not like her Catholic schoolgirl sketch and the agent could not have been more wrong. Mindy Kaling’s Short Essays in the “Nothing Like I Imagined (Except Sometimes)” series

Need something shorter? Check out Mindy Kaling’s short story essays, like:

You can watch Mindy–actress/producer/director/one-woman powerhouse–tell a story from Once Upon a Time here in her latest interview with Jimmy Kimmel (or not) if you want to avoid spoilers! Also, Mindy’s hair is perfection.

Full disclosure: I am an Amazon Associate.
