Review of Arbonne’s “Vintage Rose” Lipstick

original-1Previously, I reviewed Arbonne’s “Jam” lipstick, a great lipstick whose berry-shade makes my teeth appear whiter.  Now, I’m reviewing a softer color, “Vintage Rose.”  I’ve been wanting to try a new look different than the reds, corals, and bright pinks I usually do.  The European Union has banned 1,200 ingredients from their cosmetics.  Guess how many the U.S. has banned?  Ten.  Arbonne is a certified vegan anti-aging skincare and nutritional company that doesn’t use toxins 90% of U.S. cosmetics companies use.

“Vintage Rose is Great for Women Who:

  1. Don’t like bold colors–Often, I hear women who shy away from makeup because they don’t like bright reds and deep purples.  Vintage Rose has a really soft, pretty color as you can see in the photographs.  It would look soft on all skin tones.
  2. Don’t want to use lipliner–As I’ve gotten older, I rely on lipliner more when I wear bright colored lipsticks.  Without it, my lipstick is smeared after a few hours.  I look clownish.  Quite frankly, some days no time for lipliner.  Because it’s such a soft color, users don’t need lipliner.
  3. Have coordination issues:  Sometimes I have coordination issues when I apply my makeup; it all depends on what Myasthenia Gravis (MG) wants to do that day.  Chronically ill people often find that applying makeup has become harder.  Arbonne’s long, straight tube makes it different from most (wider) lipstick tubes.  Application is easier and saves time.
  4. Need a change in their beauty routine:  Once in a while, a change in lipstick can add a kick in your beauty routine.

Why I Do Arbonne

Review of Arbonne’s Vintage Rose at jessicagimeno.com

I am an Arbonne Independent Consultant for a few reasons:  First of all, I’m a beauty junkie but I think health should never be sacrificed for beauty.  Our bodies absorb what we put on our skin (lotion, shampoo, makeup) twenty times faster than what we put in our stomachs.  The average American woman has 200 synthetic chemicals in her body.  Second, I like giving makeovers to chronically ill women.  I get to make people feel good while not risking their health.  Third, doing Arbonne helps me with medical bills a little while I pursue my career goals.  Pursuing your dream is hard for most people–healthy or sick.  We are often constrained by time, money, and life itself.  The time flexibility allows me to do some work from home while I try to make it as a writer.  As many of you know, my life took a five-year detour after I got MG and I’m finally getting it back on track.  For example, last week I had my first Huffington Post article published.  Before I got MG, when I was 23, I wrote a book to help young adults with depression and bipolar disorder (based on my experience as someone who lives with bipolar 2).  Medical procedures, pain, and fatigue rearranged my life.  Last year, I came close to getting the book published and next year, I am pitching it to another publisher.  I know an Arbonne consultant who was able to achieve her goal, building a school in Tanzania, after three years with Arbonne.  There are also consultants who sell Arbonne because they could use a couple hundred extra dollars every month.

So glad you could recommend a vegan lipstick! I’m slowly trying to become a more eco-friendly, conscious consumer. Glad we could reconnect this August!
