I’ll Be Back Soon

Thank you for understanding.
Thank you for understanding.

Dear Friends,

I haven’t posted in ten days; I usually post two to three articles a week.   But, a close friend of mine, Jess, passed away.  She had muscular dystrophy.  The past week has been very difficult for me.  I also have to juggle my grief with my job; my students are preparing for the state championship this week.  It’s hard to put what I’m feeling into words.  I hope to get back to you all soon.

In the meantime, this Saturday, February 28, is Rare Disease Day.  Check out my last article, 5 Obstacles People With Rare Diseases Face.  You’ll see honest stories from people with diseases like aplastic anemia, a rare form of breast cancer, hypothyroid, lichen sclerosis, ovarian cysts, Ehlers-Danlos, and my journey with myasthenia gravis.

My heartfelt condolences go out to you over the loss of your friend, Jess. Here are some words of mine to help you move through the grief.

Friends are unique, like a rare gem.
    Treasure each, their unique facets.
Rainbows shine when we talk to them,
    Beautiful light, we cannot forget.
So when grief takes ahold of you,
Find those words that bring forth some light,
Helping bits of grief to diffuse,
Letting the rainbow build back into sight.

And 2 other quotations I found for you:

Death leaves a heartache no one can heal,
love leaves a memory no one can steal.

“Give sorrow words; the grief that does not speak
knits up the o-er wrought heart and bids it break.”
