Thank You for Your Support! Update on WEGO Awards
Just wanted to thank you all! I am overwhelmed by everyone’s support with this year’s WEGO Health Activist Awards.
Last year, I was nominated in two categories and I was a Finalist in both: Best in Show: Blog and Health Activist Hero. This year, readers nominated me in four categories (Best in Show Blog, Health Activist Hero, Hilarious Health Activist, and Best in Show Facebook). You voted for me too (during the voting portion of the competition). I am happy to announce that I am a Finalist in two categories: Hilarious Health Activist and Hero.
Tomorrow, WEGO is hosting awards ceremonies online on Facebook, Twitter, and Google +; you can join us. The winner of Hilarious Health Activist is being announced at 3:20 pm EST and the winner of Health Activist Hero will be announced at 4 pm EST. Below, you can see a chart of the awards ceremonies tomorrow that WEGO is hosting.

Whatever happens tomorrow, I want to thank you for reading my blog, sharing it, and supporting me! Meeting many of you, be it online or visiting some of you in the hospital, has been quite a journey these past three years. Below, are a few quotes from readers who nominated me. (You can read the rest here on WEGO’s website.)
“Jessica is a wonderful & caring activist for those of us that suffer from chronic illness (which she also does). She not only covers one specific illness but reaches to encompass the full gamut. She genuinely shares her personal ups and downs along with those of other sufferers, and highlights uplifting advice on how to make it through each day.”

“I am nominating Jessica Gimeno for Best in Show Blog because, as a warrior who stands strong against 4 illnesses, she speaks to the heart of living with adversity while rising above. Many times I have read her blog and have been encouraged to be strong and hold on. Jessica is a beautiful young woman that exemplifies what it means to be a champion.” –Kathie
“I read the Fashionably ill article on the church and mental illness myths, and the more I look back on my own life,The more I see I may have symptoms myself!! Now, I will see what getting diagnosed entails. I appreciate the advice. It’s good to know someone understands this and doesn’t judge me! To find someone who understands these days is rare!” –Anonymous
