I started a Facebook page for Fashionably ill last December.  I wanted to create a “large tent” for people with chronic illness.  I often find that I learn a lot about surviving illness from meeting people with illnesses that are different from mine.  On the flip side, it’s also great to find community among people who have your illnesses.  If it were not for the Internet, I wouldn’t know anyone with my specific autoimmune diseases.  Readers of Fashionably ill bravely fight against illnesses–visible and invisible and pain–mental and physical–everyday.

On our page you can post questions about your illness.  You can also participate in discussions.  For example, I recently asked readers, What do you least like hearing when you’re depressed?  This led me to write this article, 10 Things Not to Say to a Depressed Person.

Join us on Facebook.  It’s about community.  Pain comes in different packages but empathy is universal.  Like us at: https://www.facebook.com/fashionablyill
