Everyday is a Gift

IMG_1263I see so many messages on Facebook saying things like, “I’m thirty today.  Please shoot me now.”  I know aging can be stressful for everyone.  But as someone who lives with chronic illnesses, I don’t take any birthday for granted.  Last week, I turned 29.  Honestly, it’s a miracle I ever lived to be 25-years old.  I don’t wish any of my illnesses on anyone but I do think that being sick has taught me about gratitude.  And that tomorrow is not promised so we should make the best of today.

Celebrating You

IMG_1265On that note, here’s to birthdays.  And celebrations, big and small.  Dinners out or in.  Cakes and balloons.  Here’s to you, the warriors who inspire me  on my birthday and everyday.
